The Seed Keeper Project

8th Annual
Seed Keeper Project 2018
Starts On
Monday--January 29, 2018!

The Seed Keeper Project is our opportunity to recognize school gardens across the country.  Each year we award a Seed Keeper Home Farmer and a Certificate to a school garden in every state and the District of Columbia highlighting their dedication to gardening. Plus, each winning school will receive Seeds of the Month Club  (that's 52 packs of seeds) and the essential gardening companion book-- garden-pedia by Maria Zampini and Pamela Bennett! Our Project runs with generous help from Corona Tools! Growsripts joins our list of partners this year and will provide slow-release fertilizer to each winning school garden! We appreciate the support of our partners and their commitment to school gardens.

To date the Seed Keeper Project has recognized more than 350 school gardens in all 50 states and the District of Columbia!

We need YOU to make this happen!
  • Beginning Monday, January 29th, we will post 10 States each week for 5 weeks in alphabetical order on our FaceBook Page
  • During the week will we ask you to nominate a K-12 school (public, private or homeschool) and post it on our FB Page.
  • Should there be a tie for nominated school gardens within a state, we will draw a winner using at the end of that week and announce them on our FB page
  • When we send the Seed Keeper and Certificate to the winner, your name will be mentioned in the Certificate as the person who nominated the school.
We believe it our responsibility to take part in educating coming generations about the benefits of gardening and particularly growing your own food.

We are the winners of The Seed Keeper Project! Our winning schools inspire us!!

"I respect generosity in people, and I respect it in companies, too. I don't look at it as philanthropy; I see it as an investment in the community." Paul Newman

"Your Seed Keeper Project is just one example of the many initiatives needed across the country to engage parents, families, and children to get excited about making healthy choices and we applaud your work!"
